KANISHA & JORDAN
We first met back in college at Carnegie Mellon in 2014 during a Student Dormitory Council meeting.
Kanisha walked into the room early, feeling nervous as a new freshman student, and she found a guy, lost in his own world, singing along to Disney tunes (spoiler alert: it was Jordan).
We ended up becoming great friends over the next five years, especially since Jordan stuck around for grad school and we both ended up with jobs in New York.
We love to play board games and binge-watch TV shows together. One of those shows is “Rick and Morty,” and for the longest time, I was obsessed with finding a “Pickle Rick” Funko pop.
We didn’t want to just order it online; we wanted to find it randomly, or “in the wild” as we would say. We’d always look for it whenever we were in a store that sold Funko pops, but no luck.
Then one day, we were about to play one of our favorite board games with our friends Kay and Dan. With their help, Jordan had sneakily put a “Pickle Rick” Funko pop in the game box.
When I opened it, I was beyond thrilled to finally find it! When I turned around, there was Jordan, down on one knee, ring in hand, wearing the biggest smile.
