Save the appetizers for AFTER dinner!

Another crucial detail for your wedding reception is your food. Dinner and appetizers take the biggest chunk out of your budget. When your’re spending such a huge amount on delicious dinners, you want your guests to enjoy them instead of throwing them away.

Unfortunately, it can happen if your guests fill up on appetizers.  As a wedding professional, I see it happen frequently.  Here’s how you can stop it.

Open your bar as soon as the reception begins.  However, have the venue keep your cookies and appetizers in the kitchen until after your meal has been served.

When you arrive, you can have the speeches, toasts, and prayers.  After those, serve dinner.  Later in the evening, your wedding planner or caterer can set out the horderves, cutting down on food waste and excessive drinking.

Guests will nibble on cookies and appetizers helping them to drink less and party more.  Remember what you serve and when you serve it really is important!
